  • 97% responded vaccines should be mandatory for frontline health care workers

  • 90% want to see Canada have a national policy on vaccine verification and only 10% believe it should be handled at a local level

In my experience a lot of hesitation is due to lack of knowledge and another group is due to feeling 'forced' into taking the vaccine. So choice should still be stressed, but people need to understand that restrictions are imposed due to the increased risk of transmission and hospitalization.

Dr. Rajbir Rai

If we’re going to create one for COVID-19, it should be easily integrated with the other public health vaccines such as hep B, MMR, varicella etc.

Dr. Danusha Jebanesan

Changing name to vaccination record rather than passport is ideal. Using education as much as possible to increase vaccination and less in force would be best for long term acceptance and likely future requirements for vaccinations

I think health care workers should all be vaccinated (I am), I just don't think it should be mandatory. If e.g. a physician wants to provide virtual services only, there is no reason they should be forced to be vaccinated any more than the general public.

I wish they had identified them as an immunization record instead; I feel many people react to the ‘passport’ name whereas vaccination  records are an accepted idea in society.

Family Practice Physician, ON

Physicians and scientists need to be more transparent with the public about the COVID situation in hospitals. I believe most people concerned about the vaccine or who are opposed to it have no idea what the situation is like in hospital critical care units.
